Bowling with a disability
Lawn bowls is a game for all ages and abilities: it’s one of the most accessible and integrated sports, and one of the most social.
Victoria Park Bowls Club offers a range of adaptive equipment for people with disabilities, all provided with funding from Action for Bow, Clarion Futures and London Borough of Tower Hamlets Mayor’s Small Grants Programme. We can provide:
Wheelchair to use on the bowls green, and a ramp
Access corner steps to make it easier to step onto the green
Rollator to support you walking up & down the green and provide a rest at either end
Walker to support you when you bowl, and walking up & down
Lifters so you can pick up your bowls without bending down
Walking stick green protectors so you can use your walking stick on the green
Launcher to help if you have a bad back, hips or knees
Bowling arm to help if hip, back or knee issues stop you bending or crouching to deliver your bowls
Bowlsmate to give you height-adjustable support for a true delivery position if knee or back issues interfere with your game
